Random shutdowns/Loads safemode fine

Specs: Windows 7
Alright, so im about at my wits end. Basically I went to turn on my computer today (Vista Ult) and it shut down after getting to the windows loading screen. I've replaced the power supply, thinking that maybe it was dying anyway, checked all of the fans, re-thermal pasted my processor and checked all of the RAM. For whatever reason, I cannot get it to load normally, but it'll stay up in safe mode no problem. I'd be down for reinstalling my vista, but eventually when it restarts to continue formatting and reinstalling windows... my computer randomly shuts off the second it goes out of safe mode.

Any help would be amazing.

download a liveCD and boot from that

If the comp does not restart its unlikely its hardware

Hence, likely to be an issue with your vista. Virus etc..

I wonder if it could be a display driver because in safe mode, I think it uses the default windows display driver. If possible go to device manager and see if you can update the driver.

Looks like all of my hardware was working just fine, had a nasty virus on my hard drive... I ended up taking this as a chance to just upgrade it anyway, installed my new hard drive--reinstalled windows, and bam! Works perfectly now.
