Random shut downs followed by system repair at boot

March 16, 2014 at 11:19:54
Specs: Windows Vista
So at random this computer (pretty sure it's a Compaq from 2008 running vista) randomly shuts itself down. The time it takes for it to shut down after start up is completely random. I've re-installed the system updates hopping that that might take care of the issue but it has not.

Have you checked for overheating - often the reason for shutdowns?

Best clean vents and if it's a PC then clean fans and CPU heat sink too.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Your title suggests you may have performed a 'system repair' prior to the problem starting. If that's the case what exactly did you do?
