Random, intermittent error messages after virus removal

March 9, 2012 at 08:22:45
Specs: Windows Vista, 2 gb
I recently had a virus that messed some stuff up on my computer, and now I get the "a problem caused the program to stop working correctly" error message for random programs intermittently. How do I go about fixing it?

What is love?

I regard registry cleaners as risky - they can get things wrong. If you want to go that way the registry cleaner in "CCleaner Lite" is one of the safest ones IMO.

I assume you are certain that the virus has gone completely.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Don't fool with it anymore, just fix it right. You can never tell the state of the system. The only for sure way is to reload the OS from OEM media. Get a good security suite in it and update it. Use best practices to avoid this in the future.
