Problem with installing Java update

Sun microsystems / Java 6 update 17
December 17, 2009 at 10:59:40
Specs: Windows Vista
I have been trying to install Java(TM) 6 Update 17 to my laptop, which operates on Vista. I can download it just fine, but when I try to install it, the following message keeps popping up:

"The wizard was interrupted before Java(TM) 6 Update 17 could be completely installed. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again."

I have tried several times to set it up over the last few weeks, but to no avail.

I have been trying to. I had three versions of Java, of which two were successfully uninstalled. I cannot seem to get rid of Java Update 13! I'm not sure why it will not install. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

cheekynana, To get rid of all previous versions of Java try the Revo Uninstaller which is Free at the link below.

If that doesn't do the trick try the "Windows Installer CleanUp Utility" at the link below.

Thank you so much for your help! I had previously tried the Windows Uninstaller but it didn't seem to work. Revo did the trick. Thank you! :)

Actually JavaRa may help as well: http://downloads.sourceforge.net/ja...
It gets rid of all old versions

Also here's the best Java Update link to post: http://java.com/en/download/install...
(This is because versions can be outdated at any time)
