Problem With HP Recovery....

Specs: Windows XP
Actualyy the problem strted when without knowing i formated my notebook due to a virus in it...after formating and installing new retail window i came to know that the pc is not supported by retail OS as most of the drivers did not work..I have got the recovery disks...i strted recovery.After Pressing F-11 it started loading th files but after that it gave a error message that this PC is not supported by Recovery disks...Now tell me what should i do...???

If you installed a retail windows, all you need to undertake is to download required drivers from HP Support and install manually.

The Recovery Disks will not work as you have obviously removed the hidden Restore Partition on the hard drive..

HP used to sell set of XP Recovery discs that effectively rebuild the restore partition of the computer. They are no longer sold for that type of Windows operating system as per M$ directives, I understand the kits can still be obtained from sources other than HP by googling for it.
