Solved pop up warning on my computer out of memory on line 1

Specs: Windows XP, 4MB
I can open my IE browser and can be reading a page, doing a search, opening it, closing it, going to another program and my computer will freeze and an approximately 1 1/2 inch by 1 1/2 inch square pop up box appears in the middle of my screen which simple says "Out of memory on line 1 or 9 or 64" it could be any line. If I click on it or even do something else, it will disappear and a new one will pop up and say it's out of memory on another line. Sometimes it will stop doing it and sometimes it keeps doing it. I don't know how to start it or stope it. It just does it on its own. Originally it was just on my desktop at my office and now it is on my laptop at home. The two never directly connect to one another. They both access the same email but in different ways
