Try unplugging the power cord from the back of your computer 45 secs and plug it back in and try it...it may well be a defective power supply, but sometimes after lightning storms or small surges....the capacitors stick in the power supply....pushing the power button on/off will not unstick them hence no power. Unplugging the computers power cord allows all the power to drain and often resets this condition. For the 45 seconds or so.....its worth a try.
