Specs: Windows Vista Home Premium, AMD 2X Dual Core 2.1GHz/4GB 64 bit
Windows errors intermittently occur. Norton report all is OK, no threats. This has just started occurring and is getting worse with long latency times. Windows Task Manager Processes reports CPU 50 description Norton Utilities Startup Tray. Probably started after connecting/disconnecting the Replica USB backup drive. Slow whether connected or not.

Uninstall Norton, why is it needed ?

I have already uninstalled Norton Utilities, which was apparently using up so much of the CPU cycles. It looks like it really isn't compatible with Vista.

Since I began working with computers back in the 80's it was always my go to program for checking and maintaining computer health. That was when Peter was still head of the company which still bears his name.
