I have no video display and the HDD seems to be not functioning. I don't see any LED flashing on the HDD. I removed the battery, unplugged the adapter, held down the power button for 60 sec, and plugged in everything, but the problem persist after turning the power on. I hope it's not the mobo. Please advise, thanks.
Oh no! Same kinda thing just happened to me! Turned out it
was I some how fried the boot sector. Had to install windows,
including all the needed drivers (video drivers, sound card, so
on) on a different HD using a different machine. Then try it in
my machine. It works! Now I still need to load all my old files
from that f-#%*d HD. So gotta go. Letme know if this works
for ya!
It shouldn't be the boot sector, because I should atleast see something loading on the screen. The BIOS will show it's logo, then an error about the hard drive, or at least a flashing cursor. In my case, my HDD is not even responding at all so no boot up, no video display. I hear the fan working, I put the recovery CD, but that's useless. I put the HDD on my desktop and I can still see all the files and folders intact, that's a good news. Other than that, looks like I have a bad motherboard. Thanks for your suggestion though, any other suggestion is welcome and appreciated, thanks.
