Solved need help w/TOC formatting in Office 2010

Specs: Windows Vista
I've recently been given an opportunity to help out a friend of mine who needs to be able to update her company's manual and have the TOC page numbers for each heading automatically update if they make any changes in the future. I saw someone had a similar question back in 2005 (using Office 2003) and a response from someone using Office XP......Can the same process described for Office XP/Office 2003 STILL be used in Office 2010?

Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated.

I've no idea what the previous solution was that you are referring to but Word 2010 definitely has the automated facility under the 'references' section.
