My windows vista Emachine shutting down

Specs: Windows vista
My laptop recently just all of a sudden shut down on me. When I went to reboot it, it came to a menu thatrecommended windows to repair or start normally. I did both and the problem seems to keep happening. Ive received fatal system error and i tried uninstalling a bunch of stuff thinking it might help bc this roxio media manager box keeps popping up with error and looks like might be the problem. I tried everything possible and thats the one thing that keep popping up before my laptop crashes. Is this because its corrupted or could it just maybe be the hard drive. i downloaded the uninstall program thinking maybe that would help, but the errors wont allow me to fully uninstall these programs before shutting down. Please help this is driving me nuts.

When a computer shuts down spontaneously it is usually due to hardware problems. This is particularly true for eMachines. This could be due to overheating, power issues, and other causes. Aside from ensuring that all vents are clear and the battery is good, there isn't much that you can do yourself.
