|You have not told us the make and model of your laptop making it difficult to help you.|
Does your laptop have wireless built in?
If yes have you installed the drivers for it?
If yes then do you have a wireless router connected to the internet?
If yes than
Wireless network can be managed by Windows Zero Configuration (WZC), or by a
utility provided by the Wireless Card Manufacturer.
For the case where you are using WZC then there will be a wireless icon on the bottom left of your laptop. If you open it then it will scan your neighbourhood and show you all possible wireless networks it find in your locality. Identify yours from the list and select it and connect. If you have encryption set then you will need to provide the security key (WEP/WPA). You will then be able to connect.
For the case that your laptop is configured to use the utility provided by the Wireless Card Manufacturer then it will have an associated mechanism to connect. Use that to connect.
once again, in the absence of specifics about your laptop, this is about the best answer you will get.
