A blank CD is blank and, by definition, there is nothing to read on it.

Do you mean this ? When you insert a blank CD, there should appear a menu asking you what you want to do, such as:

create a DATA CD

create a MUSIC CD, etc.

In this case you should define Windows default operations regarding blank CD disk.

Hope the above helps.

When you put in a blank CD and try to write data on it, do you get a message " insert a blank recordable media " or similar and does the tray open while there is already a blank CD in the recorder ?
