Solved Movie editor not working

September 6, 2012 at 18:07:38
Specs: Vista, Duotronic IIa/5096 gigaquads
I recently bought a video editor called MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 17 Plus. This Program isAWESOME until i started using the AVCHD features. When I try to play a file with the .MTS extension, it gives me an error like this:
______________________________________________________________
|Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library |
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
runtime Error!

Program:...Files (x86)\MAGIX\Movie_Edit_Pro_17_plus\Videodeluxe.exe

abnormal program termination
_____________________________________________________________
Any Ideas?
Will also post this in "Software" page also.
P.S When investigating this error, i ran across some websites that said that Vista had a fatal incompatibility with AVCHD (.MTS) files and needed special codec packages.

FYI:
I tried installing the program on a neighbor's win7 computer, and it worked like a charm. I'm heading for an computer replacement in 2013 anyhow, so i'll just minimize the error message. It works fine when you minimize the error message.

why not convert the .mts files to a usable extension for magix?
What did the Magix tech support say about this problem? You bought it so they should be more than willing to help you.

I'd email the company that made the software.

Personally I use windows movie app.

To mortneff: windows movie doesn't hold a candle to this program.
To xpuser4real: This error occured after I registered & activated the AVCHD features, and occurs every time I turn the program on. Not directly related to the AVCHD stuff. I also put a e-mail request in, but MAGIX hasn't responded yet.
