Mount and burn read-only cd images

Specs: Windows Vista , Intel 64-bit

I am new to this forum.

I wanted to protect my files onto a CD the cheapest way.

First, I want to make an image of the CD.
Second, I want to make the CD image mounted as read-only.
Third, burn the mounted read-only CD image to blank CD.

The only problem is that I may have done it wrong.
Should I need to attrib +r the CD Image first beforehand?

Thanks in advance for your response.

Programs like Nero or others even many if not all free one's can make an image of some sort. It may be a special file type for that program or one that is common like .iso image.

Read only would have to be though file permissions on the file system. Maybe some encryption programs like truecrypt could also be used.

Lastly is to burn it with a program that can handle the image.

Why did it take me over a year to phone in a problem to ATT?

If file permissions on windows vista are possible for all types of file extensions,
then how would I inherit permissions, because I am having trouble to perform that task.

Tell me step by step on how to inherit permissions.
