Found that method on Toshiba web site this morning, couldn't find it last night. Tried it when I got home this afternoon, did not work. "Hidden" restore directory or partition seems to be missing. Spent $25 to get new set of discs from Toshiba, seems cheaper than buying a new OS and having to save or find all the drivers... Thanks for the tip, Toshiba web site hard to navigate.
... before you use'em try <F8> <key> @ bootup click here

I tried the F8 process also, found that same link on the Toshiba web site also. Login options are Administrator, Guest and Owner, no User. Tried entering nothing for Admn PW and get incorrect password response, don't know of any Admin PW. Logged in as Owner with no PW, but the options are not the same as shown on the web and the line for HDD recovery is not there. There is an option for a full restore but it prompts you for the system discs. When I try pressing "0" at boot, all I get is stuck key beeping....
