All of a sudden my desktop icons and files disappeared. System restore finally gave me back the icons and folders; however, all the data in the folders is still missing. Would like to know if anyone has an idea as to what caused this and do I need to worry that it will happen again. Also scan the system files and it stated that some of the windows files were corrupted. How would I go about fixing this problem.
Icon in the desktop misses when a process called "explorer.exe" was terminated. If you face this problem again > Go to task manager > In "Applications" tab click "New Task" > In the dialogue box type "explorer.exe" and hit enter > You can get your missing Icon back.
