Do you have a CD/DVD recording software installed ? Some recording software such as Nero has a command, which you can activate to tell your PC to shut down upon finishing recording on CD/DVD and ejecting the disk.

When you click Eject, your PC may assume you have finished recording and ejecting the disk.

Just an idea.

If you have CD/DVD drive, almost all CD/DVD drives come with recording capability nowadays except maybe for netbooks.

So please check.
