invalid ms-dos function

I'm trying to copy a video file from my camera to a folder and it keeps on telling my that it cannot copy because of invalid ms-dos function. So, how can i fix this?

File type: .mov

Are you using a DOS type script to do this? If so paste it on here so we can
have a look at it. If not, exactly how are you trying to perform this copy?

sorry for my late reply, but i am trying to copy the picture from my computer, scandisk, to my pictures. and that's what i am getting.

HOW are you trying to copy it? Why aren't you using the camera software to off load it?

Well, you should be able to copy & paste from camera - I do it all the time. That's a mighty strange error message because DOS doesn't even exist in Vista. There is the Command prompt but that isn't used in the copy / paste process anyhow.

About the only thing I can suggest is system restore, assuming it worked on this machine previously and it was not too long ago. Very weird.
