when my computer is off and is brought back up i get the message

Are you using Norton? If so that is probably the program that is failing.

Yes I am using Norton. Why would tis be happening all of a sudden. What do I need to do? Thank You.

Well, it's years since I used Norton but as I recall it Backweb was the system that they used for updating. It is possible however that other third party programs use this too. Short of uninstalling & re-installing Norton I have no answer. Possibly Backweb appears in "Control Panel > Programs and Features" in its own right. There is probably a Norton-Symantec forum if you Google around and they might be able to help you to first make certain that it really is a Norton issue and provide a fix.

You might prefer to stick with Norton but the following freebie AV's work very well:

Microsoft Security Essentials.

Someone else on here might have some ideas if you keep looking back.
