Internet Browsers Will Not Launch

October 15, 2010 at 10:22:50
Specs: Windows Vista, Intel Core2 Duo 3GHz/4 GB RAM
Anytime I double click on an icon for a web browser, it doesn't launch. The .exe pops up in the task manager services tab but nothing else happens. I've found that if I spam the Enter key and open up a half dozen (or more) instances of Opera, I'll occasionally get -ONE- actual window up. With Firefox, if I open 3 instances of it, go into the services tab of the task manager and close the instance that's using the most memory it will also close one other instance and finally open the third one. I'm not entirely sure what's going on here. I've run Avira and Malwarebytes and neither one turned up anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated, this is getting rather annoying.

This always makes me chuckle....another Firefox and also an Opera problem. Do you have the same problem with IE?
The above 2 are secondary browsers which I may use once in awhile for alternatives just in case IE quits.
Avira is also not too strong of an AV, but each his own.

Some HELP in posting on plus free progs and instructions Cheers
