Specs: Windows 7 Ultimate
Hi, I recently pulled out an older computer I had stored in my closet and plugged it in. It's nicer than the pc I'm using now..so, I wanted to swap. When I plugged it in, it came to a black screen that said "missing operating system". So, I put my copy of Vista in the dvd drive and it started to install just fine. I went to go do something else, as this can take a long time. When I came back, the pc was stuck back at the screen asking me to press a key to boot from cd. Problem is..suddenly my keyboard is unresponsive! I can't press any key to start the boot. What now? Why did the keyboard work just a few minutes ago and now it doesn't? Anyone have any ideas?

Is the keyboard USB or PS2 connection? If it's PS2 then all I
can really recommend is start the installation again and keep a
closer eye on it.

It's a ps2 keyboard i believe. It's not usb. I tried installing again..but, I can't press any buttons on the keyboard so it won't move beyond the boot from cd screen.

Simplest thing to try is to borrow a keyboard & see if that cures it.
