... sounds like you are looking at the pic's within an archive "zip, rar" file(?)

... to extract the files to a destination folder is there not a folder tree you can select? ie. C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\My Documents\My Pictures

when i do an open with, it opens in paint, microsoft picture manager etc. But does not open directly when i double click.

Aslo, i cannot open the file which comes into inbox as an attachment. I first have to save it and then right click on it and open it with paint or microsoft picture manager.

Thanks for the response.

Would appreciate if you could let me know the right file to download to fix this issue.

Under Control Panel > Default Programs >Set Associations > the current default for jpg files is X12-30247.exe.

I am not very sure what .exe file needs to be run to have the jpg file fixed.

... www.google search shows me X12-30247 is for Microsoft Publisher Update!

... which file do you want to open jpg's with?

... try: %ProgramFiles%\Windows Photo Gallery\WindowsPhotoGallery.exe

... you should now be able to alter if you wish to change again.

... why did you run 2X12-30247.exe?

... my response in #7 does not mention opening that file.

... rather associate jpg's with WindowsPhotoGallery.exe (or paint program!)

... try again

I will always have to right click on any picture file and say open with microsoft office picture manager or thru ms paint. This is frustrating. The pictures dont open when i just double click on them. That is why i tried running the X12.30247.exe file. I would like to open picture files in jpg but it gives me the below error message as mentioned earlier.

Usage:
/extract:path,extracts the contents of the package to the path folder
/quiet, runs the package in silent mode
/?, shows this help message
