Specs: Windows Vista, T3200
I have tried everything. The system will not boot up at all. I've tried f-8 and depressing the zero key at start up to find the recover to factory settings. We do not have the restore there something else I can do...

If you tried all of that then the last thing your left with is purchasing a new operating system. You can do that from websites like and when you search the websites, make sure you get the OEM product, for operating systems its only about $112

However, I would like to make one recommendation.. Windows Vista is a very unstable operating system, and has many issues as a whole. Look on Toshiba's website and see if your laptop is compatible with Windows 7; if it is, I recommend that over Vista. They will be the same price anyway.

I don't want to spend any money on this for an operating system when I don't know if that is the problem. I think I would rather get a restore cd from Toshiba first, but I thought I might be able to restore it without one. I wonder also if the harddrive has failed. The error message reads that something has caused an error and windows cannot start due to something being unplugged or a defective drive.
