I cannot find the root directory of vista

Specs: Windows vista, AMD Turion X2
how do i find the root directory of vista in my pc. I want to create a booinf flash drive for my pc as my dvd drive is not reading any more so i was trying to copy BOOT.INI, NTLDR, and NTDETECT these files. But i couldn't detect/find my root directory. How to find the root directory in vista of my PC.

You should note that boot.ini and ntldr do not exist in Vista.

Thanks buddy, but my problem doesn't solve there. I was trying to make a booting drive for my pc which uses vista. Can u help me in solving this.

Just for info, you should be able to find your root directory by going to "Computer" from the start button. You will see your drives listed, it is usually C. It is the one that contains the sub-folders "Program Files" and "Windows".

I trust I have understood your original question because it seems very basic. Note that most of the root files are hidden by default.
