I'm using chrome 49. I visit several sites that use HTTPS. I know Google isn't providing updates for version 49 any more but I was wondering whether it would effect sites that use HTTPS? Isn't the data from the site still encrypted even though chrome hasn't had any updates?

No point sticking with an outdated browser. Try Comodo IceDragon. Based on Firefox, still works with Vista.

Thanks! I like the simple interface. Do you use Ice Dragon? Have you ever used Slimjet? It's based on Chrome and the latest for Vista is a version based on Chrome 51. I don't think you can get updates though. Is Ice Dragon still putting out updates that can be used on Vista?

I'm not a Chrome fan. Never heard of Slimjet but I have IceDragon. It's based on Firefox & looks almost identical. It currently supports Vista but I suspect that will end this year when Firefox drops support for Vista. If you can't get your hands on a copy of Win7, you should seriously consider switching to Linux Mint.
