... did you try this method: http://www.ehow.co.uk/how_4814366_b...

... ten hours is rather long, 2hrs would be long for me.

...you could try booting up with the recovery disk, the above method is meant to work.

... to be honest I am not sure how you recovery is configured

... some recovery DvD's you bootup with others you pop into the "rom" tray @ insert disk prompt from a key stroke selection.

... If it were my laptop I'd try pressing the "Ctrl Alt Delete" keys to invoke a reboot.

... if that do'nt work I'd turn it off then power it back on and see what happens!

... try suggestions in "Response Number 3" first!

... if no good unplug the mains adapter and remove the battery then reinsert it and hookup the mains again and just try turning the laptop "on"

... if still no good restart the laptop tapping the <Esc> key and enter your bios and look for "reset to default" or similar activate that setting.... save settings on exit of bios.... restart the laptop

... see what happens... if nothing enter the bios again and alter the booting sequence to cdrom first ....save setting on exit!

... post back here what you see on the screen even if its just a flashing cursor

... before you try booting up with the cd/dvd, (yes just place it in the tray and turn it on ... maybe)
