First off you can try something simple. Go to your control panel and click the folder options icon. Then boogie over to the file types tab. Then look within that mess of file types for the mp3 extension. Then click the mp3" file and click the change button. Within the screen that pops up you should choose but no one likes to be told what to do. You can click the windows media player option if you want. Then make sure the check box "make sure you use this program......., is checked. Then click the okay button. Then click apply and okay. Okay! You can also go to this link and see what programs are default programs for different file types. Take it easy man! Boy, have not been to this forum in a while. Let me know if you have anymore issues?

You can copy several .idx files on the desktop and rename their extensions to .mp3 and try to play them. If they play, then you can find a program to rename all of your .idx files to .mp3 at once.
