how to reboot a laptop

October 10, 2013 at 07:00:57
Specs: Vista( fully up to date)
Toshiba P300-16T T23702G

Windows Vista won't load, black screen appears with launch repair or start normally. Neither work. Have taken battery out and turned on but still won't power up. Is there anything I can do or is the machine at the end of it's life?

Did you try F8? If you can get to that menu, choose last known good configuration. F11 should bring you to the recovery partition.

Try some of the other choices on F8, safe mode with networking. If that doesn't work, go into the BIOS & reset it to defaults. Sometimes that works.

Mostly if you tap F8 continuously after powering on it gets there.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
