What browser are you using?

You probably have an outdated browser, and the newest version of Java isn't compatible with it. Whether you can upgrade your browser, I don't know...considering you're running Vista.

✔ Best Answer
Open the web browser, Click on "Tools", "manage add ons" select the "toolbars and extensions", makes sure that the java plug ins are enabled., then close the browser, re open and try the verify java page. Java has to be enabled in your browser. Some browser like Chrome have a built in version and the stand alone update is not required.

Java verify page.

To err is human but to really screw things up, you need a computer!

Have you tried updating from the Java Icon in the Control Panel?

This will still update Java even if it is disabled in browsers.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
