How do you revive slow Toshiba Laptop?

March 8, 2011 at 14:27:44
Specs: Windows Vista
I have a Toshiba A135-S4407 that is several years old. It has gotten slower and slower as time passes. I remember how good it was when I first got it. I've since gotten a L350D-S5950 and given the other to my wife. She constantly complains about it being so slow. I'm thinking of just restoring the original image, as my wife only uses it for email and games. Do I just load the recovery disk into the drive and turn on the computer? Is there anything else I should know before I attempt this?

... perhaps try method 1 <<click>> method 2

... depending on a recovery partition may function quicker than a dvd without read errors.

I have the original factory recovery disk that came with the computer. I don't have a partition on the hard drive with the recovery image. My question is there anything I should know before using this method and do I just insert the disk and restart the computer?

... if it does'nt boot off the recovery disk enter your bios and alter the booting order sequence to cd/dvd as first option.

... save settings on exit of bios.
