How do I get wireless from my laptop?

I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop running Vista that used to pick up wireless just fine but now I have to use the cable to get it. I tried it at two different locations with wireless and get the same problem. I used another laptop at the same two locations and it works fine. I rebooted the PC. I automatically detected the LAN Settings. I checked the IP Address of the wireless to make sure that I was communicating. I can see in the system tray that I am able to reach the wireless with all green bars but not able to get Internet. Any suggestions?

If the wireless side of a router is protected by a WEP or WPA key, you have to enter that same key into your laptop's wireless network settings.

Just reaching the wireless router doesn't need a key, but getting an internet connection through it does.
