how can I view contents of backup DVDs

July 23, 2010 at 13:07:40
Specs: Windows Vista, Intel(R) Pentium (R) 33.00 GB
I have attempted to make backups of my hard drive and have ruined, I think, several DVD's.

Today I thought I would look into my DVD's and see what info that I have backed up. I am having trouble seeing what files are on my DVD,s. Somtimes I am not sure whether I am viewing contents of a DVD or the HDD.

Depends on how you backed up, if you used the Vista backup it would be one file spread over the number of disks required and as such would not be viewable. You would need to run the restore option to get the files back.
More on Vista's backup:
My personal choice is Acronis True Image, it's not free but worth every cent of the $50 it cost me. It's a lot more flexible, heaps of choices and can be automated.
Acronis on special now $29.99
