Hello all, got the latest Internet explorer, on a windows 8.1 laptop. All upto date.

Problem I have is when I go onto the NS&I, Facebook, lastminute.com, websites in I.E. my laptop freezes, no way to get back on except to turn off, and restart. Have firefox works ok on that.

Have spyhunter, McAffee, Malwarebytes, spyware blaster, ran them, deleted all rubbish.

Downloaded AdBlock plus, installed, cannot see it in IE, or in Firefox. How do I find it to make sure its working?? or is their a better one??

Still freezing. Please can someone give me a fix for this problem.

Thanks, Gep

Run these two freebies too, they are focussed on browser malware and can unearth what MalwareBytes and others can miss:

AdwCleaner:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/dow...
(blue Download button near top - not anything else on the page).
Download and "Save" the file somewhere. Go to the saved file then double click it to run the program. Use the "Scan" button, followed by the "Cleaning" button.

Junkware Removal Tool (JRT)
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/dow...
(blue Download button near top - not anything else on the page).
Download and "Save" the file somewhere. Go to the saved file then double click it to run JRT. It might appear to have stopped at times or flash the screen but sit tight until it has finished.

If they find anything please copy/paste the logs on here so we can see what is going on.

EDIT:
In Firefox Adblock should produce a red, circular ABP icon on the top right of the screen next to the search. You can also look in Tools > Addons to see if it is present (both browsers).

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Hello, sorry I did not follow up.

Waited to see if windows 10 would sort the problem, it did.

Thanks, gep

Thanks for feedback. There was a Win 10 update on the day of issue then a big one about a week later. Probably the big one fixed it.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
