freezing during videos & music

how come my computer freezes up everytime i either watch a video or listen to music. it sometimes freezes during startup. it's during the sound part. is something wrong with my sound driver? or do i need more ram or what? please help me.

See event logs to start. I know they are difficult to read but try to look for the time that it failed to get a clue where to look.

do you have this issue if you use a different media player. Like if you use vlc player instead of windows media player does it do the same thing.

yes. it does it when on youtube even. and i noticed that if i shut everything else down and close my internet window, then it'll let me listen to music for a while before freezing up again. but it eventually always freezes.
