Hi,

Few days back, I have lost my Flash Player plug-in from both of my browsers (i.e. IE and Firefox). Now when I start installing this plug-in, system says "Error opening C:/Windows/System32/Macromed/Flash/NPSWF32.DLL".
When I checked the above path, the file NPSWF32.DLL file was missing. Then I have downloaded it and try to paste there. But Windows don't allow me to paste this file there. While i can paste other text file in the above path.
Can anybody tell me that how to put this DLL there, so that I can install the Flash Player plug-in?

thanks
Sandy

Can you copy the file there using Admin Command PROMPT ?

Open Command Prompt with Admin rights and type in

copy " FULL PATH to NPSWF32.DLL " C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\

where " FULL PATH to NPSWF32.DLL " is the folder containing the .DLL file such as C:\SPARE\NPSWF32.DLL.

Hi Suatcini,

No, I am not able to do that.
Even I have tried to copy this file by changing it extension from .dll to .ddlm. So it was successfully copied but when I tried to rename it using command prompt or GUI, system didn't allowed me to do that.

Maybe your best solution could be to restore Windows to a time before the problem occurred. Since it is only a few days prior to the issue, you do not lose much, I guess.
