flash games only showing white screen

November 11, 2009 at 16:07:45
Specs: Windows Vista
Having trouble on one of my laptops when
trying to load a game on nickjr.com
specifically the kids/art/ "free draw" or "sticker
pictures" game - for whatever reason when the
page loads the flash portion is white. I have
flash 10 installed on both computers but only
this one seem to have the problems? both are
dell laptops that are newer. PC any fixes?

Maybe you need to download/install and enable the Sun Java Virtual Machine that is needed to execute javascripts associated to flash games.

Microsoft does not enable any more this free feature and you have to visit the Sun Java website to know how to download and install it.

.... and maybe you don't. Java is nothing to do with Javascript and vice versa.

What browser are you using? Tested the site (and your problem pages) with Opera and IE - no problems. Maybe you've got a problem with settings - go here to check them out.

This is my ultimate resource to give help.

Install Adobe Shockwave player from the Adobe website as that plug-in missed on my Vista laptop and my wife was unable to play her favorite flash games. After installed the blank pages were gone and I too could resume my usual business.

Good advice - I just fixed a friend's PC (Vista) by reinstalling flash direct from the site and not via the browser (Opera in this case).

Do you have any antivirus or firewall installed on your machine? If so try to disable it to see if they are the problem. Did you play with your browser options? Go see and try to spot something having to do with Flash content...
