Enhance microphone bass in vista

Hi,
I just purchased new headphones which are much louder than my previous ones, but I feel the bass is lesser.
I looked around the vista sound settings and found the "Bass boost and low frequency protection" settings.
What settings should I use to improve the bass for music on my headphones?

Let me know if there are any settings to get some good base from these headphones if possible, they are pretty much the same brand as my previous one, only much louder in genera.

If you use Winamp, there is an equalizer in it. I run my sound card through my home stereo, so I have all the bass I want. I don't use headphones but they could be connected them to my preamp.

You will need to experiment to get them to your liking, everyone's hearing is different.
The 12db showing is a fair boost try it at that setting if too much reduce to 10db if not enough try 15db depending what options are available.
Only you can say how much to boost.

Guapo, I already have a creative 2.1 sound speaker which is mostly for music. The headphone is for gaming and occasional music only, but still would be nice to get some good solid base from it.

I'll try to experiment and see what sounds best.

I'm not a gamer but you can still run it through an external amplifier and connect the headphones to that.
