DVD+R disk with data registers as Blank

September 17, 2012 at 03:18:11
Specs: Windows Vista, Intel Prem Dual 2GB
DVD+R disk with data registers as Blank on my computer.

I received this disk plus two other copies with same information on them but all registered as blanks on my computer. When I insert DVD a window opens called Autoplay with blank DVD options of either Burn DVD data disk or Burn files to disk.

A visual inspection of the disks makes it clear that something is burned on them.

I can play CDs and DVDs on my computer without any problem. I am using Windows Vista .

I hope you can help. Masny thanks.

"When I insert DVD a window opens called Autoplay with blank DVD options of either Burn DVD data disk or Burn files to disk"

You only see those Autoplay options when the disc is blank.
If there was anything on the disc, you would see "Open folder to view files".

Are you sure your DVD drive can actually read DVD+R media?

Thank you for your reply.

I am not sure that my DVD drive can actually read DVD+R media. Is there any way I can check this?

It would have to be a very rare device that can't read dvd+r. The usual issue is you can't burn them.

Any way to try them on a different computer?

If you go to the hardware information in xp you can find the drive make and model and search it.
