Specs: Windows Vista, CORE 2 DUO/3 GB
MY DVD DRIVE CAN READ VISTA OS DVD, WHEN I START MY LAPTOP(DELL- 1525).
BUT I WANT TO FORMAT MY LAPTOP. SO. I PRESS F12 FOR BOOTING THE DVD AT STARTING MY LAPTOP BUT AFTER SELECTING CD/DVD ROM, DVD DRIVE IS NOT READING. I AM CONFUSED BECAUSE IT READ WHEN I START MY PC AND I CAN OPEN/EXPLORE IT. BUT IT CAN READ AT THE TIME OF BOOTING.

First do not use all CAPS. It is considered bad etiquette and is also seen as SHOUTING.

You need to go into your BIOS and set your optical drive to be first in the BOOT order before your hard drive. Then try rebooting. Hopefully it will work.

Make sure you clean the CD/DVD.
