dropdown menu "invisible"

Specs: Windows Vista
On my Vista laptop a few days ago, right or left clicks (e.g. to copy/paste an item from a right click) resulted only in a faint outline of the box, but moving the mouse up and down over that area made the dropdown choices visible. Any thoughts?

Run memtest scan on your Ram:

Memtest should be run for 4Hrs or 7 Passes
If an error in red is found then replace the faulty Ram:

Memtest ISO boot CD download: http://www.memtest.org/#downiso

To clarify, the "download - pre-compiled bootable ISO (.zip)", when opened, has message "Trial expired ...". And not sure what app to use for the .gz alternative (and if it too won't proceed). Pls advise next steps. Thx.

I'm having precisely the same problem as ty5377. I also could not run that test. Any further advise?
