Even though I've downloaded adobe reader I can't for the life of me open pdf files. It goes through the motions but nothing happens. Something must be blocking it.
rickle21, Are these pdf files attachments in your e-mail that you're trying to open? Can you save them to your hard drive then see if you can open them? Which e-mail program are you using? Tufenuf
I never thought of saving them first. It works perfectly.. thank-you, but why won't they open first time round? It isn't just email, but I use BT yahoo and hotmail.
Thanks for sorting the problem.

I personally always save pdf attachments to my hard drive then scan them with my Anti Virus program prior to opening them but that's my choice.

Thanks for your help. I looked at some of the threads/links for email advice. Saving the files first is just fine and probably safer. It's just annoying they won't open initially.
You might want to look at this thread as there appears to be more than one way to fix this problem. I personally use Foxit Reader. It doesn't have all the whistles and bells of Adobe but if you just want to open pdf files it is light and works great.

Thanks Deke. I looked at the techarena but it all looks too techy for me! I'll stick with saving the files first.
Everyone has been really helpful.
