Computer won't start up

Specs: Windows XP
It says windows was shut down due to file corrupt error. Si it gives me the option of restarting or trying to fix it. Either way ot won't come up to the home page!

Is it XP or Vista as you have listed your system as being XP but you are in the Vista forum. There are different methods of fixing boot problems depending on which it is.

It is also a good idea to be more specific in describing the problem, especially the exact error messages you get and what happens instead of you getting your 'home page'.

Doesn't it usually boot to the desktop or have you set it to boot straight to your browser?

I have a feeling that by "home page" he means his desktop, he's just using the wrong terminology.
