vista running computer keeps rebooting, I press F12 to change the start up sequence to reboot from the disk drive but the selection doesn't move and the computer freezes on that screen. How can I get this computer working again. How can I get the computer reboot from the disk drive.
While the computer is powered down remove all peripherals except your keyboard and mouse. Try tapping the F8 key (in 1 second intervals after you power it on) during startup until you get the advanced startup options.
Select "last known good configuration" and hit enter.
Let us know how this goes.

Remove memory / ram sticks & clean the contacts. If multi sticks, try just one stick to test.
