Specs: Windows Vista Home Premium
Hey everyone,

So here is my issue, my laptop was acting up pretty bad i think it had some mad trojans on it. so while i was out of town a friend tried to recover it for me by running sys recov. when i got back my computer would turn on the disk drive turn the lights on it come on but its just dead no screen nothing so i formatted my HDD from another source hoping that would solve it but i realized to reinstall windows i need BIOS so i can change boot order but my screen just stays black all the time even when the lights and the Disk drive are working. so could be the problem and how might i fix it. Oh the computer is a Compaq Presario v6000.

"so while i was out of town a friend tried to recover it for me by running sys recov."

sorry to say, but I wouldn't let anyone fool with my PC if I wasn't there. Sounds like he/she crashed your PC and really messed it up.

Also by reformatting the drive you lost the hidden partition with your back up OS on it.

First of all remove the disc from the disc drive.
Tap f10 on bootup and change the boot order.

Some HELP in posting on plus free progs and instructions Cheers
