You don't say whether this is a laptop or a tower but it might be worth cleaning the RAM edge connectors with a pencil eraser. After that pop the RAM sticks in and out a few times to clear any oxide of the sockets themselves.|
If it is the standard BSOD, mostly (but not always) it is a hardware problem.
