black screen

May 8, 2011 at 06:43:14
Specs: Windows Vista
after talking to on line tech support for 3 hrs, my puter crashed. He told me to do system recovery and restore back to factory condition. The computer worked for maybe 2 days, then all the sudden, the screen went black, and stays that way. I have tried to hit f9 & f10, the sceen will show the blue page with these comands, but no matter what I hit, the screen stays black ?
Don't want to call tech support back, since they crashed the puter to begin with. Any help out there....I'd greatly appreciate it.

Why did you call tech support in the first place? Obviously you had problems to begin with. Also, what did the tech tell you to do that caused your "puter" to crash?

First reason, I had tried all I new to try. I found this site after all the damage was done.
I had been looking for a way for tune ups and was having a problem with the pages being quite large and print quite small. I found a site with HP that does tune ups for a set price. I ordered the service. The gentleman was very kind and spent a lot of time. The last thing he tried was reloading my drivers. That was something I would have never attempt. Then the pages became so large it was impossible to move them to do any thing. He said the only thing left to do was system recovery.
He did what was needed and told me someone would call back in 2 hours. At the time the computer was working a little but kept going black.
'I was going to call back, but 1- I didn't see how they could fix a black screen from their end, & 2nd. he never put the charge through for the service he did on my puter.
So that kinda tells me he new my computer crashed from his experience, and didn't feel right charging me a large amount of money for crashing and me getting nothing.

Keep in mind, the only thing I did was except the service I bought, and hime going into my puter, he moved the mouse to where ever he needed to.

It sounds like you have a hardware problem if it kept going black before you did the restore then a couple of days afterwards as well. At this point I would make a call to HP and return it under warranty.
