Uninstall the Lexmark drivers/software, then reinstall them again, that should fix the problem. And it would be a good time to upgrade to the latest drivers available.

It has something to do with a Lexmark Printer.

Are you using a Lexmark Printer? If so try typing this in the Run box and hitting the Enter key:
regsvr32 lxcytime.dll

If you don't have a Lexmark printer type msconfig in the Run box instead and go to the Startup tab. See if that file and path are shown. If so uncheck it. This is a workaround but it could at least get rid of the annoyance. The proper fix would be in the registry.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Thanks so much, yes I have a Lexmark Printer running from my computer. I went to the Run Box (start menu ~ search Run) put in regsvr32lxcytime.dll but it came back with
'Windows cannot find regsvr32lxcytime,dll make sure you typed the name correctly and try again'
Am going to unplug the Lexmark (and then kick it) and then retry. Thanks so much for your help, appreciate it.

Did you type it in exactly as I said, including the important space after 32?

"make sure you typed the name correctly and try again'"
Copy & Paste Derek's info & you can't go wrong.

Ooops perhaps I didn't leave a space, will go back and check.
All OK I did leave a space but the following appeared ~
The module lxcytime.dll failed to load.
The specified module could not be found.

" I think that I will have a go at Uninstalling Lexmark"
Easiest way.

Start > Devices and Printers, right click on the printer & hit > Remove Device.

Thank you all for helping me, I have just uninstalled and reinstalled my Lexmark, had a slight hiccup ~ came up with ' The printer cannot communicate with the computer ~ turn on the 'enable bidirectional communication'. Once I had worked this out I was OK.
Thnaks so much you are all a lifeline to sanity!!!

Maybe I was a bit premature. Can get the Lexmark to print but have now lost the desktop icon that took me into the main programme that let me scan and copy as well as print. Can still copy by using the buttons on the printer, but scanner does not work. I think that this sort of mending is just not for me!!

Maybe the answer here will help:
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...

Otherwise give us the Lexmark model number in the hope that will help us wrinkle something out. If you can start the main program from the Start Menu then that entry can be copied to the desktop.

Hi all, don't worry I haven't broken anything. Just want to let you know that I have uninstalled and reinstalled so many times now that I have lost count! Put the computer and printer on this morning and all is working well. Don't ask me what I did to put it right because I don't know, but I can print and scan, I even have the Lexmark imaging icon back on the desktop. All's fine, but for how long??
Thanks to you all for 'holding my hand', appreciate your help.
