after I close a downloaded file it won't open

Specs: Windows Vista
can't open some closed downloads, after I download a file I have no problem opening it, but once I close it I can't open it again, I have to redownload this file again to see it.
When I want to open the file a second time, I right click and the box that appears has the word "OPEN" in it but is faded or dead, and I can't figure out why.
I have to keep redownloading this file to see it ( although this does not happen with all the downloads just one program I am studying Internet Marketing with and I need some of these download contents to build my Wordpress Websites )
These files contain zipped folders for - plug ins - themes - keywords - content - and articles for directories, which I can open an view.
Could there be something in this file ( I open this zipped folder with WinZip ) that only allows it to be opened only one time.

Not sure I am quite following this.

Are you saving the file onto a folder on the HD? If not, do that instead of Run.

The zip file should then allow you to open and close it at will. For it to actually "do anything" you will need to extract the contents somewhere.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Hi Derek and thanks for responding

I download this file from a page with all our training videos and this file I need has a title and a "Download now" box, I click on the download box and it just downloads this file into my downloads folder, I can access this downloads folder from the top left of my screen and when it drops down I can see my file, which I then right click on it and there is a drop down saying "Open" which I click on and it opens, But when I close it and later on I try and open it again then that "Open" link is dead and the only way I can see it again is to download it again..
When I do download it I am not given the option of where I can store it, just the download button to click on.

Rather weird - possibly some security feature..

Have you tried unzipping the contents to somewhere on first opening? If that works it should allow you to work on the contents outside the zip.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
