|There isn't a professional printer made, much less consumer models, that I know of that uses three pickup rollers. They all have one or two ( if the roller is used to act as a separator pad) to pull the paper into the printer. From there, there are two or three rollers that act as the registration rollers which align the paper before it goes through the print process. |
It's a fact of life, rollers become dirty or worn out due to use. For home printers, it's usually a matter of paper dust collecting on the rollers that cause them to slip.
When I worked on Xerox printers, they commended the following to clean the rollers. Take a coffee filter, dampen it slightly and clean the rollers with it. Coffee filters are very porous and rough and will clean rollers very effectively.
